Resource harvesting

UORPG. net has implemented a unique, mixed harvesting system which includes classic Ultima Online harvesting, as well as an additional system that is developed specially for rpg-based players.

Wood harvest (skill — lumberjacking).
Use hatchets as a tool.
You can chop only one type of log from one single tree. In fact you can`t chop oak logs off a willow tree.
After chopping some lower (up to redwood) tree off, you simply cannot harvest this tree again for some time. If you`ll chop off some higher tree, it will appear in a random place in the world. This system makes “hard-macro” harvesting much less usefull.
Chop some bushes if you want to produce kindling.

Ore harvest (skill — mining).
Use pickaxe as a tool.
You can mine ore in two ways:
1. “Classic” way — mine ore in mines, pits or from the ledges. You can dig up some gems this way but note that this is a real hard way to dig up some rare ores.
2. You may mine ore from ore rocks. Those are odd rocks, that may be found in random places of the world. You can produce only one type of ore from the same rock.

+Note: Mining in a mine won't allow you to dig up ore which is better by more than 1 level of your pickaxe. For example, if you have a bronze pickaxe, you won't be able to mine better ores than steel one. If you want to mine elemental ore, you will require a Lava pickaxe.

Fishing (skill — fishing).
Use a fishing pole as a tool.
Allows you to catch some fish. Eating freshly cooked fish steaks is easiest way to satisfy hunger.

Harvesting system is designed to improve balance between macro users and “deliberate game” players. It allows to reduce the role of macros in high-value resources.
